Arlene Aranzamendez, CEO and Founder of Adorn USA, gave her top fashion tips and trends for the Holidays – Thanksgiving through New Years Eve:

OVERALL LOOK: Bold without being flamboyant, comfortable while still being figure-flattering.

Trends for the Fall-Winter season…

1 Winter White

Yes, you can wear white after Labor Day. “More is more” might be the color motto for the street-style set, but on the runway this season, head-to-toe winter white made one of the strongest impressions. This white on white look works on women of all ages and will never go out of style.

2 Fall-Winter 2013 Trend: Leather

Stay warm and look stylish with the perfect leather piece this cold season. Whether you opt for a classic biker jacket or color-blocked t-shirt, these leather pieces will keep you on trend and beat off the winter chills.

3 Trend: Over-the-Knee Boots

“The higher, the better” is the motto of the year.

4 Trend: Turtlenecks. A trend that is both practical and adorable. You can skip the scarf as your neck will already be warm enough.

5 Trend: Shades of Green

Green is officially a thing for fall 2013. From emerald to army, there’s a shade for every skin tone, hair color, and personal style. Incorporate this shade of emerald green in your wardrobe and try to combine it with black, burgundy and gold.

6 Fall-Winter 2013 Trend: Slouchy Pants

Fall’s ’s must-have trousers are looser and far more subdued. The new It cut is slightly narrow at the ankles and sits high on the waist. Pair it with heels, a clutch-size handbag, and a no-fuss top.

7 Classic Patterns

Say goodbye to floral and kaleidoscope prints from summer. This season is all about classic patterns like houndstooth, leopard print, and graphic patterns. Houndstooth print gives chic and professional touch, and plaids will give country-pastoral feel to the outfits. Experiment with various colors, lengths, and textures, but don’t forget, the patterns have to be graphic and striking. Whatever your preference, when it comes to patterns this season, ditch complicated in favor of classic.

8 Unconventional Leopard Print

Speaking of more prints for the season…as someone who likes to wear leopard year-round, I’m happy to report that leopard print will be über popular for fall. But not just any kind of leopard – this season is all about the unconventional prints. Think oversized spots and bright colors – the wilder, the better in this case! If you’re wary about rocking this bold print, go small with accessories, but if you’re a leopard lover, feel free to go all out.

Few tips of updating your Fall-Winter wardrobe…

It’s a great investment if you want to update your style this fall. And you can never go wrong with a neutral blazer or a metallic statement necklace.

If you get one new wardrobe staple for fall, I highly suggest a black jersey blazer. Start with a simple single-button blazer with little or no embellishments so you can wear it with just about anything in your closet.

Fall and Winter is a time for sweaters and blazers. Nothing dresses up a sweater or a plain tee with blazer like a shiny statement necklace. It’s also a great way to update a simple sheath dress to make it party worthy. A simple work dress layered with a dazzling necklace and paired with pretty pumps can instantly turn it into a chic cocktail dress.
